FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ramiz Jasic Joins Inn by the Sea as Executive Chef for Sea Glass Restaurant
A passion for food rooted in heritage with stories that shape the dining experience
(Inn by the Sea – May 21, 2025)– Ramiz Jasic, a seasoned culinary leader with 16 years of experience in high-end resort dining, has been appointed Executive Chef at Inn by the Sea announced Nick Shumate, the Inn’s General Manager. Ramiz will oversee all aspects of the resort’s dining operations. This includes developing regionally sourced, seasonal menus at the resort’s ocean view restaurant Sea Glass, managing the Inn’s lounge, room and pool service, and catering for weddings, social events, and corporate meetings.
Chef Jasic is known for his passion for food that tells a story, and this philosophy is woven into every dish he creates. His menus at the Inn will feature handcrafted meals inspired by the best of New England —whether farmed, responsibly harvested from the sea, or foraged from the surrounding region. From vegan to carnivore, the menus are designed to delight every palette. Guests can expect simple yet elevated dishes with global influences, paired perfectly with signature cocktails crafted from local spirits or selections from the Inn’s acclaimed, award-winning wine cellar.
"I believe that food should always tell a story," says Chef Ramiz. "Every dish is a reflection of who we are—our heritage, our journey, our soul. I’m excited to bring my passion for food with meaning to a place that values both local traditions and the stories that shape our dining experiences."
A Culinary Journey Rooted in Heritage
Chef Ramiz’s culinary roots trace back to Tuzla, Bosnia, where he grew up surrounded by the vibrant flavors of traditional Bosnian cuisine. Inspired by memories of his mother’s kitchen, particularly her beloved Burek—a savory pastry that remains close to his heart—the Chef’s cooking philosophy emphasizes food that is deeply personal, rooted in heritage, and infused with meaning. His passion for honoring cultural traditions while embracing modern culinary trends will influence Sea Glass menus with both authenticity and innovation.
The Chef’s culinary journey began humbly, working as a dishwasher in a restaurant at a young age. He was captivated by the chefs who worked with flair and used their knives with precision, and he set his sight on becoming a part of that team and the culinary world. Over the years, he honed his craft and earned a reputation for creating modern, thoughtfully composed dishes, all while staying true to the emotional depth and tradition of classic culinary techniques. At Inn by the Sea, Chef Ramiz’s menus will be informed by his dedication to excellence and sustainability, using the freshest local ingredients available.
A Modern Approach with Respect for Tradition
Before joining Inn by the Sea, Chef Ramiz served as Executive Chef at The Lodge at Schroon Lake where he created menus that showcased both the bounty of the local area and his signature approach to contemporary cuisine. His previous roles at resorts on Amelia Island in Florida, Saranac Lake in New York and Executive Chef at The Olympic Center in Lake Placid allowed him to refine his talent for fusing global flavors with seasonal ingredients to tell a story. His unwavering belief in investing in his team has led to a reputation for fostering strong, inspired kitchens.
