(Cape Elizabeth, Maine. September 19, 2022.) Matt Lewis (CEO) and Kathleen Pierce (Director of Member Experience) of Hospitality Maine surprised Sea Glass Chef Andrew Chadwick in the kitchen with champagne and the news that he had been selected as 2022 Chef of the Year by his peers. The Hospitality Industry Association in Maine selects a Chef of the Year annually and the recognition is awarded at their Annual Summit, which this year, will take place at Sunday River on November 13-14, 2022.
Chadwick is Executive Chef for Sea Glass, the ocean view restaurant at Maine’s premier beach destination, Inn by the Sea. Chef Chadwick develops and executes menus for Sea Glass and oversees all aspects of the resort’s dining options including lounge, room and pool service, weddings, social events and corporate meetings. The Chef and his team were delighted to have been invited to cook a multi course, Maine to Manhattan dinner at the celebrated James Beard House in New York. Now the team celebrates again as the Executive Chef is named Hospitality Maine’s Chef of the Year.

The Chef joined Inn by the Sea after a distinguished culinary career as Executive Sous Chef at the renowned Chatham Bars Inn on Cape Cod where he managed all 6 of the resort’s restaurants and developed a reputation for showcasing a modern approach to food and presentation, while respecting classical cooking techniques.
Chadwick attended the International Institute of Culinary Arts, where he had the privilege of working under certified Master Chefs George Karousos and Christian Schunmann.
