Finally- we can dump the puffy outer wear and fully embrace the warmth of a New England summer. Eating- outside-days don’t last long in Maine so Carpe Diem! Grab these magical evenings when you can sip a refreshing cocktail, take in the ocean view and enjoy Sea Glass Chef Andrew Chadwick’s summer menu al fresco. The many benefits of visiting this neighborhood eatery, apart from the delectable food and fresh sea air, include the elegant charm of Inn by the Sea’s gardens, oversized rectangular umbrellas for shade and the lush lawn sprinkled with Adirondack chairs.

 

Date Night!
Grab a seat on one of the Adirondacks and pair a summer cocktail with those Atlantic views. For perfection, add Chef Chadwick’s luscious Local Mussels in spicy chorizo broth with parsley & pickled peppers. You’ll be far enough away from other guests to feel free to soak up the tasty broth with the accompanying crusty bread.


Because it’s Maine and summer...
The Adirondacks are deep and cozy, give you privacy and have arms easily wide enough to handle small plates and a cocktail. It’s Maine and summer- so of course you’re going to want a Lobster Roll, lightly dressed on a brioche roll served with Sea Glass fries. Take a moment to look up and enjoy the view of lobster boats bobbing on the horizon.

 

Signature Classics
Sometimes you just need a classic and the Chef’s New England clam chowder is certainly that. Served with local bacon, chives and crisp focaccia this chowder is a perennial guest favorite, as is The Sea Glass Burger. Presented on a brioche bun the generous all-beef patty perfectly balances sweet and salty with bacon jam, dill pickles, melted havarti cheese, and shaved lettuce while the spicy aioli adds the perfect touch of tang. The Grilled Chicken & Mozzarella sandwich with vine ripe tomatoes, fresh mozzarella & herb aioli on focaccia serves up the perfect combination of crunchy, spicy and cheesy.

If you are taking dinner more seriously and want a traditional place setting and more robust fare, book a table on the deck or lawn and tuck into starters such as the local Farmer’s Salad or Minestrone Soup with chicken parmesan broth, roasted spring vegetables, toasted orzo and pesto. The Roasted Half Chicken with broccolini and tamarind glaze or the 10 ounce Grilled Sirloin with chimichurri and crispy crushed potato are delectable entrees. For lighter fare try Linguini & Clams in a rich wine & garlic broth with herbs & butter, while Fresh seafood and vegan offerings change daily.
