What to Expect this Summer at Inn by the Sea
Dear Friends of Inn by the Sea:
Summer has once again arrived on the coast of Maine with long sunny days and a tremendous sense of renewal. This year, more than any other, the fresh start to another season is greeted with gratitude and enormous optimism for positive change. We look forward to another great Maine summer with endless carefree hours spent outdoors and on the beach. And- we can’t wait to reconnect with old friends! First, we want to make sure you know we care about you. The wellbeing of our guests and team have been at the forefront all year and led to the addition of many modifications to our hotel operations. We are now proud to announce the Inn has become Sharecare Health Security Verified with Forbes Travel Guide. This comprehensive third-party verification, of over 360 hygiene and safety protocols at the Inn, gives both visitors and staff assurance that we are putting safety first, now with COVID and into the future.
While we do have some exciting changes, many of the reasons guests return to the Inn year after year remain the same - fresh sea breezes, a beautiful stretch of beach perfect for coastal distancing, and calming ocean views. The popular nightly campfire with smores, daily yoga on the lawn, complimentary bicycles to cruise the coast, garden tours, guided beach walks, Karli and Kayden’s ice cream shop, and children’s programming will all be back for the season. Our enthusiastic staff is constantly inspired to create new experiences for guests to enjoy each year. To that end, the Inn’s rejuvenating SPA will now offer therapies al fresco! Two new SPA cabanas equipped with massage tables will be located on our side lawn, available for a secluded and private outdoor, coastal experience. Cabanas will debut late spring through early autumn.
Executive Chef Andrew Chadwick continues to elevate captivating cuisine inside Sea Glass restaurant, outside on ocean view decks or poolside. And new this summer, Chef invites guests to a quintessential Maine Lobster Bake with all the traditional sides, every Wednesday evening on the seaside lawn. This family style event will debut late June through Labor Day.
It is with great pride I share news of some of the awards and positive guest feedback our resort and dedicated employees continue to receive, including being selected for Condé Nast Travelers’ Best New England Resorts 2020; Travel & Leisure’s Best Maine Hotels 2021; US News & World Report Best Hotels & SPAS, Maine 2021; USA Today 10 Best US Eco-Friendly Resorts 2020; and Sea Glass restaurant’s deep wine cellar of over 2500 bottles and 350 labels has once again achieved Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence in 2020.
