Preferred Hotel Group Recognizes Inn by the Sea

INN BY THE SEA RECOGNIZED BY PREFERRED HOTEL GROUP® FOR COMMUNITY AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Cape Elizabeth, ME- December 1, 2014. Maine's Inn by the Sea received the Sustainability Award from Preferred Hotel Group® at their annual Global Conference and Giffts (Great Initiatives for Today's, Tomorrow's Society) award ceremony held in Pebble Beach, California on November 5th, 2014.

"It is imperative for everyone involved in the travel process-from hoteliers to their guests- to proactively embrace community and social responsibility, as these collective actions foster change and bring great value to our global communities," stated Lindsey Ueberroth, President and CEO of Preferred Hotel Group.

In presenting the Sustainability award Preferred Hotel Group® cited Inn by the Sea's commitment to environmental responsibility implemented through several hotel programs. Captivating cuisine: regionally sourced menus and partnership in the Gulf of Maine's Research Institute's Culinary program; Green by Design; features that range from recycled flooring and sheet rock to solar panels; Habitat Restoration: collaboration with the Department of Conservation around restoring habitat for endangered wildlife; Â and Indigenous Landscape: which supports local wildlife as well as fun and educational classes for guests. Richard Carroll, Inn by the Sea's Director of Sales and Marketing, accepted the award.
