In giving, receive!

December 1, 2021

Supporting neighbors is the hallmark of the holiday season. Get those feel good vibes going when you join Inn by the Sea in supporting some terrific community programs in the spirit of giving this holiday season, and receive a little something for yourself as thanks. Spread some warmth and inspiration this December! The Inn's holiday calendar is filled with seasonal events that support local schools, provide new warm clothes for neighbors and help feed hungry Maine kids.

Local Schools- Books for a Booking

Inn by the Sea will purchase a schoolbook for every hotel reservation made throughout the month of December. Give the gift of holiday travel and support one of our local schools. Visitors to the Inn are also able to purchase a student made bookmark from the tree for $10. to help inspire reading and purchase even more books. The books are chosen by the schools’ librarians from their wish lists. Books for a Booking supports a goal of instilling children with a love of reading and hopes to help open a world of possibilities for young readers. As a thank you for your support, receive a $20. property wide gift card valid at Inn by the Sea between Jan. 2 and June 10, 2022.

Community Support- Giving Tree

Student made ornaments will once again adorn the Giving Tree in the Fireplace Lounge at Inn by the Sea from Thanksgiving through New Year’s. Community and visitors are invited to trade one of the handmade ornaments, created by local school children, for new, warm clothes for less fortunate neighbors. The donations of new scarves, hats, gloves, socks and chap stick packs for neighbors of all ages will be collected by Inn by the Sea. The donations will be distributed by Project G.R.A.C.E. to shelters and food banks over the winter. As a thank you for your support and generosity, each donor receives a property wide gift certificate for $20. (valid Jan. 2 thru June 10, 2022)

Paying it Forward- Feeding Maine Kids

When you enjoy a craft cocktail in the fireplace lounge this winter and order an appetizer or plate to share, $1. will be donated to Full Plates Full Potential. The Inn is pleased to be part of their FEED KIDS movement helping to end child hunger in Maine. One in five children in the state struggles with food insecurity and the ability to access nutritious food, according to Full Plates Full Potential. The nonprofit works to connect Maine children to nutrition programs such as school lunch and breakfast, summer meals, day care meals and afterschool snacks. (FMI: www.fullplates.org )
